First-term Democrat tears Republicans apart over Biden corruption allegations

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) slammed Republicans for claims that President Joe Biden has ties to a bribery scheme as she compared GOP lawmakers’ responses to how they reacted to the federal indictment of former President Donald Trump.

Crockett spoke to MSNBC’s Alex Witt on Saturday about Republicans questioning the existence of audio recordings that link Biden to a scheme. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said last week that the FBI showed members of the House Oversight and Reform Committee an FBI whistleblower form, a document he says mentions such recordings.

“It’s amazing that they can look at a document and decide that we have the most corrupt president that has ever lived,” said Crockett, who has sued GOP lawmakers with a number of critical remarks in recent weeks.

She then examined how GOP claims about Biden conflicted with Republican responses to “actual indictments” with “mounds of documents.”

“We have real indictments from New York as well as from Florida by grand juries. Not necessarily the president as they tried to say, not necessarily our AG, not necessarily the special prosecutor, but citizens who sat down and went through not one document, but documents, piles of documents,” said Crockett.

“And determined there was enough to keep moving forward and decide whether or not Trump broke the law. And they say there’s nothing to see here,” he said. -she says.

Crockett later pointed out that the FBI allegedly received the document while the agency was part of Trump’s Justice Department.

“So yeah, my chairman on surveillance can’t find the witnesses,” Crockett said in a nod to Rep. James Comer’s (R-Ky.) comments on the committee’s investigation into the Biden family.

“But we all know that Jack Smith has found all the witnesses he needs to make sure he can pursue his case against the former president,” Crockett said.
