Luis Severino gave up six runs in the first inning as the Yankees fell to the Dodgers, 8-4 in Los Angeles on Friday night.

Take away food

– The story of this match was the first leg, which was a nightmare for Severino. He first gave up a first circuit at Mookie Betts, then after getting Freddie Freeman on the ground, the Dodgers chained six hits including one Max Muncy two-run homer to give the Dodgers a 4-0 lead. A Miguel Rojas sack fly and a Betts single put LA up 6-0. Jose Trevino picked up James Outman at third base to successfully end the inning after 34 pitches and eight hits.

Severino would keep throwing – giving up a JD Martinez solo home run in the process – but somehow hit four innings. He allowed nine hits, seven runs, walked one and struck out two. His fastball was slower than his last starts and everything was flat. The show asked if Severino was rocking his pitches due to how hard his pitches were hit.

– Future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw had a bad month of May but started June with a great outing. Kershaw went seven innings, scattering four hits, walking one and allowing just two runs. He also struck out nine batters. It took just 96 left-handed shots to get this far on Friday night.

-The great story of the Yankees was the return of Giancarlo Stanton, Josh Donaldson And Tommy Kahnle. All three would be involved in this game in various ways.

Donaldson kicked the Yankees’ score with a monster 446-foot home run and Stanton hit a solo home run to cut the Dodger lead to 7-2. Donaldson would add a two-run homer in the ninth inning to cut the deficit to 8-4. Stanton went 1 for 3 with a walk and two runs. Donaldson finished 2 for 4 with both jacks.

Kahnle relieved Severino in the fifth inning, making an inning while giving up a walk and a hit. ryan weber went two innings but gave up a solo shot from Betts as Albert Abreu earned a clean inning to complete the Yankees bullpen effort.

Gleyber Torres extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a first-inning single while Freeman went hitless and snapped his 20-game hitting streak.

Anthony Rizo returned to the lineup after missing the Seattle series. He went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. Judge Aaron had a tough night in Hollywood, going 0-4 with two strikeouts.

Betts’ second homer of the night gave the Dodgers their eighth run. It’s the second straight game the Dodger outfielder has hit two homers in one game. He finished 4 for 4.
