Batman may not agree, but when it comes to Kaley Cuoco, three Harley Quinns are certainly better than one. The Big Bang Theory the star voices the beloved DC Comics character in its eponymous Max animated series, while Margot Robbie was the live-action incarnation of Harley in three DC Extended Universe films – 2016 suicide squad2020s Birds of prey and 2021 The Suicide Squad. And coming next year, Lady Gaga joins the fray when she plays Harley Q in Joaquin Phoenix’s “Mr. J” in joker: madness A TwoTodd Phillips’ musical sequel to his unlikely 2019 hit.

“They asked me to play this,” Cuoco joked to Yahoo Entertainment during an interview about his upcoming Peacock series. Based on a true story, which also stars Chris Messina. “I was very busy! I was shooting this, I couldn’t commit to playing [her]. It’s really, really hard.”

Cuoco may not have gotten the call from Phillips to sing and dance alongside Phoenix, but she’s excited to see what Gaga will do with the role. “I think Lady Gaga is going to be amazing. I obviously love Harley Quinn – she’s one of my favorite characters, I love voicing her. I think she’s going to be awesome and I’m really excited about it .”

Cuoco also reiterates that she loves Robbie’s version of the character, once again quashing those old feud rumors that followed the release of Birds of prey. Coincidentally, Messina tangled up with Robbie’s Harley in this film as the villainous Victor Zsasz – a bit of casting that comes as news for his Based on a true story co-starred. “I didn’t know you were in there!” Cuoco tells Messina and it is pointed out that he has now acted against two of the three Harley Quinns. “I’m a chameleon,” he replies with a laugh.

Of course, Robbie’s DCEU future is currently up in the air since James Gunn and Peter Safran took over at DC Studios. While Gunn led the Barbie star in The Suicide Squadhis Harley Quinn is notably absent from the list of movies and TV series the duo have already unveiled as part of their “Gods and Monsters” universe reboot storyline.

But now that there’s a trio of Quinns in play, Gunn’s next move seems obvious: an All-Star Harley party. “Shit yeah! Cuoco exclaims when asked if she will be joining Robbie and Lady Gaga on a tag team adventure. “How crazy would it be to say no to that?”

Messina, meanwhile, admits to feeling a bit left out. “Are you saying James Gunn wouldn’t ask me to be in this movie? he said, feigning sadness. But he’ll understand if Gunn ends up making Phoenix the new Victor Zsasz. “We are against each other all the time.”

Based on a true story premieres June 8 on Peacock.
