United States Steel forecast a steady profit next year, jumping out with an unusually detailed outlook for 2024 as the company evaluates multiple bids for its business.
CEO David Burritt said Friday during an investor call that U.S. Steel has received “serious interest from many highly credible bidders,” though he didn’t name names or give any deadline for a decision.
So far, rival Cleveland-Cliffs is the only current bidder that has publicly disclosed its interest in the 122-year-old company.
