Within the 2016 Tamil Nadu Meeting election, KS Ravichandran of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) gained the Egmore seat. He gained 55,060 votes, as towards 44,381 votes gained by his fundamental rival Parithi Ilamvazhuthi of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK).
Within the 2011 election, Okay Nalla Thambi of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) had gained the Egmore seat by beating Parithi Ilamvazhuthi, who was at the moment a member of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).
