Players…start your (chainsaw) engines! Tobe Hooper The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has been thrilling audiences since 1974 and now the action is coming to your tabletop courtesy of Funko Games. Yahoo Entertainment has your exclusive first look at the company’s latest licensed board game, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Slaughterhousewhich hits shelves in August for $29.99 — just in time for the end of the summer barbecue season.

There is no chainsaw included in the Slaughterhouse box, but the game features a detailed recreation of the Sawyer family farmhouse as well as sculpted characters that immortalize the members of this meat-hungry clan – from the old man to the franchise’s main man… Leatherface.

Just like the first film, the plot of Slaughterhouse is refreshingly simple: a group of hapless travelers wander the Sawyer estate – then must escape with their flesh and bones still intact. Up to four players can take on the role of potential victims, while one player controls the movements of Leatherface and those close to him.

Turn-based gameplay takes intruders through various levels of House Sawyer, collecting items, completing tasks, and most importantly, avoiding death along the way. Meanwhile, a “Chainsaw Panic Meter” increases the tension and a success system unlocks special cards that carry over from game to game.

With the Texas Chainsaw film franchise (fun fact: the title style of the series changed from Chain saw For Chain saw from the 1986 sequel) currently dormant, Slaughterhouse is the perfect way for horror fans to feed their appetite for new Leatherface content. Just make sure you keep five feet away from everyone when doing your version of the chainsaw dance.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Slaughterhouse will be available in August at most major retailers.
