Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Rainbow Flag Rant Backfires

Far-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) threw herself at the rainbow flag and quickly mocked Twitter.

Greene took offense to the LGBTQ flag flying outside the Gaylord Texas Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas, during her speech at a conference hosted by the right-wing college group Turning Point USA.

It flew alongside the stars and stripes and the Texas state flag, she said.

Shame on them. Shame on them. Shame on them for hanging that flag over there. Shame on them,” Greene, who is no stranger to homophobic rants, slung. about what people do sexually that makes us hang a flag somewhere.”

“The only flags that should be hung are our United States flag and a state flag, so shame on the Gaylord,” Greene continued, later telling the audience, “I’m surprised any of you didn’t figure this out flag poll yet and removed it.

Greene shared a video of his rant on Twitter, here:

“Flags should not be flown because of so-called ‘gender identity,'” she wrote.

Critics have accused the Donald Trump devotee of hypocrisy:
