Marlon Wayans accuses United of ‘racism and classism’ after pulling off over luggage

Marlon Wayans and United Airlines are at odds over an incident at Denver International Airport on Friday.

In a series of Instagram posts, Wayans, 50, claimed a gate agent told him he had too much luggage to board his flight and it earned him a citation.

“I respected and nurtured them, (and) he was like, ‘Oh, now you gotta check that bag,'” Wayans wrote. “Most agents are still in love, but once in a while you meet BAD PEOPLE. This was one of them.”

United Airlines responded in a statement to USA TODAY, “A customer who was told they should check their bag instead pushed a United employee to the jetway and attempted to board the plane. “

USA TODAY has contacted the Denver Police Department for further details.

The spokesperson added that the customer did not fly United to their destination after the incident.

Wayans confirmed he received a ticket, but countered that he did not physically interact with the gate agent.

“Yeah one ticket…that’s all they could give me,” the comedian wrote. “Dude tried to lie and say I assaulted him. The video clearly shows I never touched him. He was desperate trying to have some authority.”

Wayans wrote: “This officer was clearly attacking me. He asked me to bundle my luggage and I complied.”

The ‘Scary Movie’ star added that after doing this, “I grabbed my ticket at the counter (and) got on the plane.”

Following the incident, Wayans missed his comedy shows in Kansas City, Missouri.

“You all owe me money for my shows I missed, you all owe me my troubles, you all owe my fans an apology. This was the highest level of disrespect. And should have been avoided ‘, the ‘White Chicks’ star added in one of her posts.

He continued, “Black people (experiment) with all kinds of racism and classism. I won’t allow that. More than one bag?”

On Saturday, Wayans alleged in a video that United’s corporate line contacted him and defended the gate agent and said there was no more room on the plane.
