Six months after the unexpected death of Lisa Marie Presley, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Department determined that her death was due to “small bowel obstruction caused by scar tissue that developed after a previous bariatric surgery years ago”. Elvis Presley’s daughter died on January 12 at age 54.

The medical examiner confirmed that she was found unconscious at her home and then taken to hospital, where she died. The way is listed as “natural”.

At the time, Yahoo Entertainment confirmed TMZ’s report that the musician was on life support in intensive care after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest.

Within a week Lisa Marie’s cause of death was deferred, medical examiner spokeswoman Sarah Ardalani said: “Deferred means that after an autopsy a cause of death has not been determined and the medical examiner requests further investigation into the death, including additional studies. Once the tests/studies are returned, the doctor will re-evaluate the case and determine the cause of death.”

Ardalani declined to say what specific tests were being conducted as the investigation was ongoing.

However, law enforcement officials noted they were not investigating.

On Thursday, TMZ said the toxicology report, which was released with the cause of death, revealed she had “therapeutic levels of oxycodone,” as well as the opioid buprenorphine, used to treat chronic pain and opioid addiction, in his system. There were also “traces” of the drug Quetiapine, used to treat everything from depression and anxiety to schizophrenia. The report notes that Lisa Marie, who has battled drug and alcohol addiction, was prescribed opioids for a cosmetic procedure late last year.

Over the next several months, the Presley family struggled for control of Graceland, Elvis’ former home which, since Elvis’ death in 1977, Priscilla had converted into a lucrative tourist destination in Memphis, Tennessee. Lisa Marie left the estate to her three daughters – Daisy Jones and the Six star Riley Keough and teenage twins Finely and Harper Lockwood. Although Riley is in line to be the sole administrator, Priscilla disputed the part of Lisa Marie’s will that placed Riley’s responsibility in court. It was a 2016 amendment to the Lisa Marie trust that removed Priscilla and Barry Siegel, Lisa Marie’s former business manager, as co-directors of Graceland and a 15% stake in Elvis Presley Enterprises. .

But Priscilla and Riley, who reportedly haven’t spoken, reached an agreement in May. The naked gun star then said his family was “stronger than ever” after the resolution, per People. The outlet said the next hearing in the case is set for August 4.
