Jamie Foxx spotted waving to fans from the boat in his first appearance since being hospitalized

Jamie Foxx has been photographed in public for the first time since suffering a sudden medical complication that led to his hospitalization in April.

On Sunday, TMZ shared footage of Foxx in a boat on the Chicago River was made public. Foxx appears to be in good health in the footage, giving the cameraman a peace sign. He was on board with several other guests.

Foxx was admitted to an Atlanta hospital in April after facing a “medical complication”. His daughter, Corinne Foxx, confirmed the situation at the time: “Fortunately, thanks to quick action and great care, he is already on the road to recovery. We know how much he is loved and appreciate your prayers. The family requests privacy during this time.

Foxx’s new footage marks his first public appearance since, apparently claiming the actor is on the mend. Foxx then released a personal statement thanking fans for their “love” and assuring them he “felt blessed” amid his recovery. Details surrounding Foxx’s condition have been scarce in the weeks since, although his daughter shared that he had “recovered” and “played pickleball” in late May.

At the time of his hospitalization, Foxx was filming the Netflix movie “Back in Action,” alongside Cameron Diaz. He is also the host and executive producer of the Fox game show “Beat Shazam”, which launched in 2017. The sixth season premiered in May with Nick Cannon taking over guest hosting duties due to Foxx’s hospitalization. Jamie and Corinne Foxx are set to co-host “We Are Family,” a new music-themed game show that will debut on Fox in 2024.
