WASHINGTON (AP) — Thousands of Microsoft Outlook users reported problems accessing and using the messaging platform Monday morning.
Microsoft 365 outage and problem reports peaked at nearly 18,000 shortly after 11:00 a.m. Eastern time Monday morning, according to outage tracker Downdetector. Reports have appeared to dwindle since then.
Most reports expressed issues with Outlook. Many users of Microsoft’s email platform shared their frustration on social media, with some noting that they were unable to log in or load their accounts.
The company said it was “investigating an issue accessing Outlook on the web” in a Twitter thread posted to its Microsoft 365 Status account – and added that a “downstream impact” had also been identified for Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business. .
Microsoft 365 Status later said it had “paused an ongoing deployment and was monitoring services to see if it provided relief to the environment.” At around 12:30 p.m. ET, the company said it had rolled back the update and was seeing an improvement in service.
