The alliance is divided on when and how to extend an admission offer to Ukraine, but Biden said last week he doesn’t believe the country is ready for NATO membership. .

Spending fights: A bipartisan group of lawmakers is calling on Biden to pressure U.S. allies to spend a greater proportion of their gross domestic product on defense.

For what? Only 11 of the organization’s 31 countries respect the commitment to devote 2% of their annual GDP to defence. The senators said Biden supported their efforts to get NATO allies to pay to move forward.
