First look at Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford on the set of the now-titled Marvel movie ‘Captain America: Brave New World’

The first preview photo dropped for the last Captain America installment thanks to Marvel Studios posting on Twitter. Original title Captain America: New World Orderhas now been replaced by Captain America: Brave New World.

In August 2021, Deadline announced that Anthony Mackie would take up the mantle of Captain America in the final phase of the MCU. Additionally, Deadline reported in October 2022 that actor Harrison Ford is joining the Marvel movie as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. Captain America 4 will be scripted by Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson (both scriptwriters of the Disney+ series Falcon and the Winter Soldier), and directed by Julius Onah.

No More Deadline

Known as Sam Wilson aka Falcon (Mackie), the films follow the comic tradition of the character becoming the new Captain America. In the comics, General Ross has been a staple since the 1960s and that’s why the misfit team of heroes The Thunderbolts exist. The role, originally played by actor William Hurt, appeared in five films including The Incredible Hulk, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers; Endgame and Black Widow.

The film is set to be released on May 3, 2024.
