Emma Corrin Hopes to Solve A Murder at the End of the World in Trailer for Hulu Mystery — Plus, Get New Release Date

Emma Corrin breaks a cardinal rule of psychological thrillers in the new trailer for A Murder at the End of the World: If a weirdo billionaire invites you to his house, say no!

In the seven-episode limited series — produced by FX, but streaming exclusively on Hulu — Corrin (The Crown) stars as Darby Hart, a Gen Z amateur sleuth and tech-savvy hacker who, along with eight other guests, is invited by a reclusive billionaire (Clive Owen) to participate in a retreat at a remote and dazzling location. “When one of the other guests is found dead,” the logline reads, “Darby must use all of her skills to prove it was murder against a tide of competing interests and before the killer takes another life.”

“I sometimes wonder: Would it have been better not to go?” Darby asks herself in the trailer embedded above. “I think about it like a coin toss, when your life can go one way or another. When you’re trapped at the end of the world, there’s no going back. No escape.”

A Murder at the End of the World (originally titled Retreat) was previously set to premiere on Aug. 29, but will now release on Tuesday, Nov. 14. FX did not offer a reason for the delay to November when it was first announced, but the postponement comes as the Writers Guild of America and Screen Actors Guild continue to strike simultaneously.

In addition to Corrin and Owen, the miniseries’ cast includes Raúl Esparza, Jermaine Fowler, Harris Dickinson, Alice Braga, Joan Chen and Brit Marling (who co-created, co-wrote and co-directed the project with Zal Batmanglij).
