El Dorado County bus driver accused of child sexual abuse, rape

Detectives arrested an El Dorado Transit bus driver accused of sexually abusing a teen and rape after authorities received a report of an adult contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The 32-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of rape, committing lewd and lascivious acts with a child 14 or 15 years old and a misdemeanor charge of obstructing authorities, El Dorado County Jail records show. He was arrested at an El Dorado Transit work site in Diamond Springs and remained in custody Friday. He was being held without bail.

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an adult contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Detectives investigating that report discovered multiple victims of the reported crime, which included incidents of sexual assault and rape, sheriff’s officials announced Thursday evening.

On Wednesday, the detectives served a search warrant at a location in Cameron Park. The man, who worked as “an extra help bus driver” for El Dorado Transit in Placerville, was arrested at a different location, sheriff’s officials said.

The bus driver also was arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s officials asked anyone with information relevant to this ongoing investigation to send an email to Detective Scarr at scarrl@edso.org.
