Bryan Cranston Plans To Retire From Acting In 2026 To Spend Time With Wife: ‘She Deserves It’

After performing on stage and screen for more than 40 years, Bryan Cranston is ready to take on a whole new role: full-time husband.

The actor, who stars in Wes Anderson’s upcoming film city ​​of asteroidssaid British GQ that in 2026 he plans to temporarily retire from acting and his business ventures so that he can devote more time to his wife, Robin Dearden.

“I want to shift the paradigm once again,” he told the outlet. “For the past 24 years, Robin has lived her life holding my cock. She’s been the most one, she’s been a celebrity wife. She’s had to pivot and adjust her life to fit mine. “She’s benefited a lot from it, but we’re unequal. I want to level that. She deserves it.”

Cranston and Dearden first met on the set of aerial wolf in 1986 and started dating a year later. The couple, who married in 1989, are parents to daughter Taylor Dearden.

As part of their new era, Cranston revealed he would be closing his production company, Moonshot Entertainment, and selling his share of his mezcal company Dos Hombres, which he co-founded with breaking Bad co-starring Aaron Paul. He and Dearden will then move to a foreign country (probably France), settle in a small village, and spend their days perfecting their language, gardening, and cooking skills.

“I want to live this experience,” he said. “I want to go on day trips and have a fire in the fireplace and drink wine with new friends and not read scripts.”

The actor, who will be 70 at the time, noted that his retirement will last at least six months, and during that time he will be completely off the grid. “It won’t be like, ‘Oh, I’m going to read and see what I’m going to do.’ No, it’s a break. It’s a stop,” he explained. “I won’t think of [work]. I’m not going to take phone calls.”
