The singer said she was “still a big fan” of the San Antonio Spurs player after the incident with his security team last week.
Britney Spears continues to speak out after claiming she was slapped by a member of the San Antonio Spurs security team during an encounter with player Victor Wembanyama.
Shortly after TMZ released video of the incident and after the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) determined no one would be charged, the 41-year-old singer shared a second post on Instagram. reaction to what happened.
Noting that she “has been in the industry for years and has been with some of the most famous people in the world,” Spears then pointed to *NSYNC, who she says “at one point, it was like the Beatles…girls were throwing themselves at them everywhere we went.
“Not once in my life has a security guard hit another person,” she wrote.
Spears continued: “I don’t share this for being a victim…I JUST HONESTLY UNDERSTAND IT…my reaction was priceless…BAD??? YES…I’ve done documentaries about me and none of them have been approved…I felt helpless in most situations and my experience in Vegas and my reaction was a scream on every level…I’ll say it.

The singer then wrote that she felt like she had never “been treated as an equal person in this country” and applauded those who helped her during the incident.
“When I watched the video myself… the people around me when they heard me getting punched made me feel like I mattered!!!” she says.
“I didn’t know about that at the time… all people could hear was me saying f— y’all… which was MUCH BETTER THAN SUSPENDING IT!!!” added the “Toxic” singer.
Spears then concluded the caption of her post by writing that she is “still a huge fan” of 19-year-old Wembanyama, noting, “It’s not her fault her safety hit me… s— happens !!!”

On Thursday, Spears filed a police report after she was allegedly slapped by one of Wembanyama’s security guards the night before. The LVMPD confirmed to PEOPLE that “officers responded” to the locate “regarding a battery investigation” around 11 p.m. Wednesday.
The police department then told PEOPLE in a statement Friday that the organization “concluded its investigation into the alleged battery which occurred on July 5, 2023, at 11 p.m., in the 3700 block of Las Vegas Boulevard.”
“No charges will be filed against the person involved,” the LVMPD continued.
A redacted police report obtained by PEOPLE claims that after reviewing CCTV from the ARIA hotel, the Spurs security guard grabbed “his left hand to pull Britney’s hand away from the individual. [He] used enough force to push Britney’s hand away so that her hand hit her face, knocking her sunglasses off.”
Wembanyama spoke about the situation on Thursday in a video shared by KENS reporter Nate Ryan on Twitter. “Something kinda happened when I was walking with some of the team security to a restaurant. We were in a venue and it was busy so people were obviously calling me,” said he declared.
The basketball star recalled hearing ‘a person’ call his name several times but didn’t stop after being told by security that stopping would cause a large crowd to form.

“This person grabbed me from behind,” he continued. “I didn’t see what happened because I was walking straight and they were like, ‘Don’t stop.’ But this person grabbed me from behind, grabbed my shoulder, grabbed me from behind so I just know security pushed her away.
The athlete added, “I don’t know how hard, but security pushed her away. I didn’t stop to watch, so I kept walking and enjoyed a nice dinner.” When asked if he knew if the person trying to get his attention was the famous musician, he explained that he “didn’t know for a few hours.”
When Wembanyama returned to the hotel, he thought the incident was “no big deal”. When security told him the person was Spears, he thought they were joking. “At first I was like, ‘No, you’re kidding.’ But yeah, it turns out it was Britney Spears,” he said. “I didn’t know because I didn’t see her. I never saw her face. I just kept walking straight.”

After her public statement, Spears posted on his social media accounts to approach the situation as a “traumatic experience” and said she has yet to receive an apology from the basketball player, his team or his security.
“I recognized an athlete in the lobby of my hotel as I walked to dinner,” she recalled. “Later, I went to a restaurant at another hotel and saw him again. I decided to approach him and congratulate him on his success.”
“It was really loud, so I tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention,” Spears said. “I’m aware of the player’s statement where he mentions ‘I grabbed him from behind’ but I just tapped him on the shoulder. His safety then turned me in the face without turning around in front of a crowd, almost knocking me over and causing my glasses [to fall] on my face.
