Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers are investigating a homicide in northeast Charlotte.
The inquest is taking place on Turtle Point Road just off University City Boulevard and began just after 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Channel 9 crime reporter Glenn Counts was on the scene from the start. Where multiple CMPD patrol cars blocked off the nearly block-sized crime scene.
Officers told Counts it was a double shooting involving two men. Both victims were taken to hospital, but one of the victims died on the way to hospital, the other is currently being treated.

CMPD Maj. Ryan Jackson said the initial call was just gunshots.
“We had a call for service reference shots to be fired, and two people were transported by private vehicles to the hospital,” Jackson said, “Where one was pronounced deceased, we have an active crime scene.”
Officers say the surviving victim is in her early 20s. At this time, they do not know what triggered the fatal incident.
